Principal Designer Core Service
PD Core provides the fundamental Principal Designer duties needed to keep smaller or lower‑complexity projects compliant, coordinated, and moving smoothly. It’s designed for clients and contractors who need clear CDM oversight without the depth or cost of a full lifecycle PD service.
What PD Core Includes
CDM 2015 compliance oversight — ensuring duties, appointments, and arrangements are in place from the outset.
Early‑stage design risk review — identifying key hazards, assumptions, and constraints that must be managed before construction.
PCI review and adequacy check — confirming the information provided is complete, structured, and suitable for tender or construction.
Design team coordination — light‑touch involvement to ensure designers understand their duties and share relevant risk information.
Construction readiness check — confirming that the CPP, RAMS, and key controls are aligned with the design and project risks.
Letter of Adequacy (if required) — providing a clear, defensible statement of compliance for client assurance.
When PD Core Is the Right Fit
Small residential or commercial refurbishments
Straightforward new‑builds with limited risk
Projects with a single or small design team
Clients who need compliance without full PD integration
Pricing starts from £2,500 upon agreed scope of service
